A good friend and client of mine, who i shan’t name has some amazing ways of making sure he does what he sets out to do
creative guy in many ways
but has a problem
he loves his food, especially bread, crisps, snacks…not so much sweet food…but if its there he will eat some
thats the issue
when its there
at home hes cool, he buys healthy food so IF the NEED arises he can snack on some rye bread
which he actually doesnt like but it fulfils the need and keeps him on track
the problem is when he’s out
or at work, or somehere out of his control
the bread that comes with the turkish meal he so loves
or the table of snacks for clients that come into his office
his downfall
but like i said..this guy is smart
he knows his weaknesses
he knows what motivates him
he puts a PLAN into action that will work
which makes him ACCOUNTABLE
and stops him giving in to those temptations
he simply places BETS
so he rang me and asked me to bet him he couldnt NOT eat the bread in the turkish restaurant he was going to …£20, the mate he was going with was in on the bet
he didnt eat any
he bet the guys he works with he wouldnt eat the treats on a friday
he didn’t
Another client recently on holiday in the land of ‘all you can eat’…the U, S OF A checked in with me whilst there to tell me about his breakfasts, see if he was making the right choices
He WAS, came back after 3 weeks with only a tiny weight gain…which anyone that’s been there will know is a big WIN
One client sends my pics of her run route to show me she’s on it. walking the walk
ACCOUNTABILITY is the difference between succeeding and failing
Its the difference between watching youtube videos for exercise ideas and having a PT on your doorstep at 6am
The difference between a workout that you know you can do and having someone push you beyond your comfort zone, getting to do the stuff you hate but know is what works…and doing 1 more than you were asked to do
Its filling in a nutrition guide for someone, showing them what youve been eating, but filling it out 100% truthfully so you dont let either of you down.
Im the same, i downloaded guides, bought marketing books, read business blogs….did i act?? No i didn’t
But i hired a business coach, i had skin in the game, i was ACCOUNTABLE…and guess what….
Im fully booked, best week of business the company has ever had and motivation is high….
Doing things i knew i should, but didnt have the pressure on me to apply myself to and having success from it
Why….i bet money on it….I INVESTED
Someone now is watching over me, calling me out, pushing me on
It makes me want to succeed more, so i do more and succeed MORE
im ACCOUNTABLE for my ACTIONS DAILY

tell a friend your plans
join a gym with someone
let people know your goal
hire someone/ an expert
post it publicly
Do what you NEED to do
anything that FORCES you to TAKE ACTION and get the results you KNOW you SHOULD be getting
