As a midwife with over 10 years’ experience, over 20 years clinical nursing experience & a busy mum of 2 I know how difficult it can be committing to regular exercise, keeping up with that gym membership, feeling guilty that you haven’t been for at least a week, a lack of motivation, who will look after the baby….the list goes on.
After my first child, there was nothing available to help me regain my core strength & pelvic floor except the gym or classes and after a while I felt I was losing the momentum, so like many left the gym but carried on paying for it…eventually leaving altogether and teaching myself via the internet how to get it all back again.
With my 2nd pregnancy I became more active, swam and walked everywhere and felt a whole lot better and prepared for the birth as I kept my strength up and I can honestly say it helped.
This experience made me want to provide the very service I felt was missing so I qualified as a personal trainer, specialising in pre-and-post-natal health and fitness as well as women’s health especially.
As a midwife and a personal trainer I offer the whole package for pregnant moms wanting to maintain a fitness level throughout the pregnancy, remaining strong preparing them for the birth of their child using the knowledge I have obtained from both ongoing pre and post natal qualifications and studying to make sure it happens in a safe, comfortable and enjoyable way.
I can train within client’s homes where the baby is always near, no child care needed with a programme specially designed to suit their needs.
I also encourage training outdoors whether it be in the clients own garden, local park, using the space that nature offers, living by the sea brings benefits of training on the beach by the ocean too, I bring the equipment to you so there is no need for a GYM.
Apart from running around after my children, I love the beach, reading, cooking and having the odd Gin and Tonic….especially in the sunshine.
