The Hill The Goal

The goal in the moment doesn’t have to be the end goal you are seeking

my run 
the goal – to make it to the top of the hill in the Chingford section of Epping Forest

now getting to the top of the hill isn’t what’s going to get me in shape, losing weight and wont improve my 10k run time (London Triathlon to think of)

but yesterday it was the short term view I needed

to get me changed
to get me out of the front door
to get my arse moving

if I can just get to the top of the hill and check out the view over East London
that’ll do for today
that’s enough

and you know what… when I got there
I did an extra couple of laps towards Loughton

turned out it was longer than expected

was a good 10k route with some steep hills

probably helped towards my overconsumption this weekend
but didn’t feel like a big thing.. a big task with a long term view

much less easier to ‘ work on it next week ‘

just doing what’s required NOW
to keep you on the path of the ‘tomorrow ‘
